How has Kaohsiung changed? 高雄如何改變

Well my hometown is Kahosung which is a beautiful harbour city in the south-west of Taiwan. It has been completely transformed over the past twenty years. Although it still relies on heavy industry in the form of petrochemical plants, semiconductors and plastics, the focus of the city has changed dramatically over recent years. There has been greater attention paid to improving the living quality of the city and an emphasis on developing green spaces. The once run down and dilapidated parks have been spruced up and now attract large crowds especially on the weekends. The city is very fortunate to have a beautiful national park that offers hiking and wild monkeys. The resurgence of the city has also been supported by an extensive landmark building project. The city now boasts a state of the art concert hall called weiwuying, an award winning public library and a brand new pop music centre. This cultural renaisaance has been further fueled by the blossoming arts scene which has scene the derelict docks area renovated into a new arts and crafts area which includes curio shops, music venues and galleries. 

我的家鄉是在台灣西南部美麗的海港城市。在過去的二十年裡，它已經完全改變了。儘管它仍然依賴石化廠、半導體和塑料等重工業，但近年來該市的重點發生了巨大變化。更加註重提高城市生活質量，重視發展綠地。曾經破敗不堪的公園已經被整修起來，現在吸引了大量人群，尤其是在周末。這座城市很幸運有一個美麗的國家公園，可以遠足和看野生猴子。一個廣泛的地標性建築項目也支持了這座城市的複興。這座城市現在擁有一座名為“衛武營”的最先進的音樂廳、一座屢獲殊榮的公共圖書館和一個全新的流行音樂中心。蓬勃發展的藝術場景進一步推動了這種文化復興，將廢棄的碼頭區改造成一個新的手工藝品區，其中包括古玩店、音樂場所和畫廊。
